Shoveling the sidewalk is no one’s favorite job but the City of Rochester is giving us a bit of extra incentive to get the task done sooner than later. When home owners fail to remove snow and ice from their sidewalks, the city has done the job for them. The cost has been just $15 per occasion, somewhat of a deal! However, the city council recently voted to substantially increase the fees. First time residential offenders will be charged $30. The second offense will be $60 and the third offense a whopping $120.
Hopefully homeowners will promptly remove snow and ice themselves. Be neighborly if you can and offer to help your elder neighbors with their snow removal. Remember to arrange for snow removal services if you plan to be out of town for an extended period of time. If you need assistance, we are happy to arrange this service. Remember, shoveling snow is great exercise too, but for those who may not be in good physical condition. Here is some good advise. watch video on proper way to shovel snow. http//www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=591607n
